Well, after 30 days without a working laptop, I am back! My hard drive died about a week before A-Kon. Fortunately, I had back-ups of my artwork, however with no real hardware to work on it has been an odd, forced sabbatical. Well, after a couple days of restoring files and downloading and installing software my laptop is finally ready to work!

After a weekend of some rewrites and character concepts, WMN is underway! I started the roughs for page one tonight. In the image below you see the digital roughs, the original plot pages (from 2006! yikes) and the final concept for Mari Yamada, one of the four. So many of you have noticed my updates on the weekly comics have been sporadic at best over the last two months. Between life, work and trying to get the monthly comic up and running at end of May the weekly updates have taken the biggest hit. So I have decided I am going to focus on the monthly comic for the next eight weeks so it is ready to roll out the weekend of May 31st. That doesn’t mean [...]]]> Schedule!

So many of you have noticed my updates on the weekly comics have been sporadic at best over the last two months. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any updates to the weekly comic during that time period, I just can’t guarantee one every week.

I will be updating here in the blog weekly on the progress of WMN, the new monthly web comic. These updates will be process posts, character reveals and concept art with minimal spoilers!  I will be tweeting and using FB to notify everyone of these updates so if you don’t already follow or like us, go for it. I did some traveling over the last couple weeks and NYC was one of the places I spent some time in. I love going to NYC. I have mentioned this in previous blog posts, but one of the reasons I chose to set BloodMachines in NYC was any situation I wrote for the characters could be plausible. Whenever I am in NYC I always snap pictures for reference. One morning I came across a cab parked on the side of the road and knowing that I needed some reference for week 16′s first panel, I framed it and shot. Check out the image placed in Manga Studio and my artwork over it. The shot worked perfect.

New to the [...]]]> What a great time today in Denton! The A-Kon crowd rocks! Thanks to the folks at A-Kon and the North Branch Library for hosting the event, it was wonderful!
